Laura McGoey

Laura McGoey is a field laborer at Intrepid Build known for her focus, her stamina, and a level of care in her work that shows up in the details. She approaches the trade methodically, taking each directive seriously and finishing what she starts, with a standard for craftsmanship that she holds herself to regardless of the task.

Laura came to Intrepid with formal trade training behind her, having completed a three-year carpentry and building construction program alongside her OSHA 30 certification. Her academic record earned her recognition including a Ben Carson Scholarship, and she carries that same discipline into the field — treating construction as a career to build rather than a job to hold.

On the jobsite, Laura works directly under her supervisor and foreman, taking daily direction and executing it thoroughly. The work varies widely from one day to the next: operating heavy equipment on one shift, cutting material or digging on the next. She is a strong independent worker who can carry a heavy task load on her own, and she knows when a job calls for a second set of hands rather than forcing it.

Laura believes the industry has lost some of its professionalism, craftsmanship, and pride, and she sees her own work as part of restoring it. Intrepid gave her a chance and a place to keep learning, and she treats that as a responsibility worth living up to on every jobsite she steps onto.
