Joe Else

SUPERINTENDENT

Joe Else is a Superintendent at Intrepid Build with more than ten years as a carpenter behind him, two of those leading a crew and the last as a superintendent. He has worked in most types of construction with a focus on ground-up work and concrete, and he brings a wide scope of construction knowledge and hands-on experience to the sites he runs.

His career started in Montana on residential finish work and moved into the commercial space soon after. He also spent four years in Juneau, Alaska on commercial projects that ranged from new builds to bridges. At a previous company he worked on the most profitable crew per man hour across its Alaska and Washington operations. He holds CICP roof certification along with forklift and boomlift certification.

Every day in construction is different, which Joe says is why he likes it. A typical one is a combination of coordinating labor and subcontractors, tracking upcoming work and material needs, and solving problems on the fly. Where he leans on his teammates is on the work that calls for being more technologically inclined.

Joe is clear about what the industry is short on: young, skilled labor coming up to replace the old guard. He is equally clear about why he is here. Intrepid is close enough to its beginning that he can have a real impact on shaping its direction and success. What he wants to see is the company bringing on more people with experience in the industry.
